What should I do?

Prepare your paper towels, sponge, and a bottle of alcohol. I guess you have this in your home somewhere, right?

• Step 1 – You need to place the towels on a flat surface. You can use the floor or your table or anywhere which is flat and steady.

• Step 2 – Position the side where it has a stain on your paper towels.

• Step 3 – Get a sponge and pour alcohol on the stain mark and gently tap it with the sponge. Don’t rub it vigorously as the “wiping” motion would spread the stain and that would lead to a much bigger set of problems. You’ll be needing a lot of patience on this step and remember to be gentle and don’t rush things. Haste makes waste, as they say.

• Step 4 – When the paper towels are wet, you need to replace them with new ones. The paper towel is great at absorbing the stain from the dry erase marker.

• Step 5 – Keep on repeating step 1 to step 4 until you no longer see the stain on your clothes.

• Step 6 – You need to wash your clothing or your fabric with clean water. You should now have a stain-free piece of clothing.

Aside from alcohol (rubbing alcohol), you can try this method using Murphy’s oil. If you haven’t heard of this one before, you can use this one to clean your home. Murphy’s oil is a great cleaning tool to remove traces of dry erase markers from your clothing.

Step 1 – Put paper towels on a flat surface. You can put it on a table or your floor or anywhere as long as it is flat and steady.

Step 2 – Use an old toothbrush that you are no longer using in dipping it in your Murphy oil solution. Saturate completely the toothbrush in the oil, you can wet the toothbrush with water before dipping it in Murphy’s oil.

Step 3 – Rub the stain gently with the toothbrush until you see suds forming. If you need to add more of the Murphy oil, you can do so.

Step 4 – Keep on rubbing with the toothbrush until you see the stain is fading.

Step 5 – Next is to use a concoction of clean water and dishwashing liquid to remove the rest of the stain from your clothes. Use a sponge and your water and dishwashing liquid solution to rub gently the stain until it is off your clothing.

Step 6 – You need to rinse the fabric with clean water to remove the dishwashing soap and the Murphy off your clothes.

Step 7 – Launder your cloth nicely and easily like you normally do.

You can use hand sanitizer, yes you heard it right. A nice bottle of hand sanitizer can help you kiss your troubles away. A hand sanitizer contains about 60% alcohol content. It is not as strong as your rubbing alcohol because you will use it to clean and sanitize your hands frequently.

Step 1 – Remove all the dust that is in the fabric because when dust and hand sanitizer mixes and sticks to the cloth, it would make the cloth look dirty.

Step 2 – Apply a liberal amount of hand sanitizer on the stain. Make sure that when you spread the hand sanitizer over the stain, it would only be enough to cover the entire stain mark. Do not put too much of it.

Step 3 – Get a clean sponge and wipe the sanitizer using a circular motion.

Step 4 – Allow the sanitizer to sit on the stain for around 15 minutes.

Step 5 – You need to put the fabric under the tap and rinse it. If you feel that it still needs more cleaning, you can do the process all over again until you won’t see any stain on the fabric.

Step 6 – Launder it like you usually do.
